Managing Partner
The Novus founder, Dan draws on his senior-level experience
in high-technology investing and industry financial management to provide
leadership to the firm as Managing General Partner. He has early career
experience as a Product Manager at Fairchild Semiconductor and ten years
as a Chief Financial Officer in three Silicon Valley technology start-ups.
He began investing as a Senior Vice President of Wells Fargo Investment
Company, with early investments in Intel, Rolm and Storage Technology,
among others. He later managed DSC Ventures for the Ray Noorda family
for six years prior to founding Novus. Dan earned his BA and BSEE from
Rice University and his MBA from Stanford University.
General Partner
A member of the Novus founding team, Shirley has more than 25 years of
venture capital experience. She has a broad background in software and
information technology investing, and worked for 12 years as a partner
at Burr Egan Deleage & Co. prior to becoming a Novus General partner.
She has served on the board of directors of 16 companies, providing strategic
counsel and implementing fund-raising and merger/sale transactions. She
was Vice President and Treasurer of Wells Fargo Investment Company with
extensive portfolio management responsibilities, and worked for the consulting
firm, McKinsey & Co.
Managing Director
A co-founder of Novus II, Greg brings over 15 years of venture capital
experience to his work as a general partner at Novus. Prior to joining
the firm, he spent 13 years as a general partner with MK Global Ventures.
As a member of the board of directors and/or a member of the executive
management team, Greg has guided a number of early-stage technology companies.
He has served as chief financial officer to several emerging technology
companies and has directed and managed every phase of high-technology
business development, from start-up, through growth and IPO. Greg also
spent six years in the high technology audit practice of PriceWaterhouse,
where he assisted clients with a broad range of transactions including
private company financings, mergers, acquisitions and initial public offerings.
Venture Partner
Christine Comaford-Lynch contributes to the funds investments in enterprise
infrastructure and software. Christine previously was Founder and Managing
Director of Artemis Ventures, which merged with Novus Ventures in July
2002. Christine's expertise is a result of over 20 years in operational
high tech positions ranging from software engineer at Microsoft, Lotus,
and Adobe, DBA at Apple and strategy advisor at Oracle and Symantec. Christine
is a four-time CEO/entrepreneur defining new markets, developing products
to serve them, executing sales, marketing and product strategies resulting
in merger, acquisition, and IPO. Throughout Christine's career, she has
assisted over 700 of the Fortune 1000 in implementing new technology.
She was a founder of First Professional Bank, Kuvera Associates, Corporate
Computing, and PlanetU. All of these companies have either been acquired
or taken public. Christine has held numerous public, private, and non-profit
board seats. She has received numerous entrepreneurial awards and recognition
from the press and business schools including Fortune, Forbes, BusinessWeek,
Stanford, Harvard and Northwestern.
Managing Director
Stewart Schuster became a general partner at Novus Ventures in 2002. He
served as both a Venture Partner at Brentwood Venture Capital and an independent
investor since 1995, specializing in enterprise software. Stu's extensive
investing experience spans more than 15 companies, many of whom went public
or were successfully acquired.
Prior to his venture experience, Stu served
as executive vice president of marketing at Sybase, Inc. During Stu's
tenure at Sybase, the Company grew from its initial product launch to $1
billion in revenues, and became the fifth largest independent software
company in the US. At Sybase, Stu oversaw the company's worldwide
marketing, with responsibilities that included marketing communications,
product marketing, field programs, channels and partner development, and
international marketing. Stu was named to the 1994 All-Star Executive Team
by Upside magazine, being recognized for pioneering the marketing of
client-server architecture. He previously held technical and marketing
management, and executive positions at Ingres, Tandem Computers, and
Intel.
Stu earned his Bachelors in applied mathematics
and computer science from Washington University, St. Louis. Stu also received
a Masters in mathematics and a PhD in computer science from the University
of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana.
Venture Partner
Henry Wong joins Novus Ventures II from Artemis Ventures, where he
oversaw the portfolio's investments in the software and communications
area. Henry's professional experience stems from both finance and legal
backgrounds, having worked for WorldCom, Morrison & Foerster, and
Ellipso, Inc. Henry has experience building and exiting companies as a
legal advisor, operations executive, and principal investor. He has
helped raise over $200 million in corporate and venture financing for
portfolio companies. Based on his expertise, he has published many
papers in various legal and finance journals. He also teaches Corporate
Finance at UC Berkeley Extension. He holds a JD and MBA from American
University in Washington DC and currently serves on the Board of
Directors for AdECN and PropertyView Solutions.
Special Limited Partner
Woody's wide range of senior-level experience as an investor and in portfolio
company management allows him to bring a unique perspective to his role
as a Special Limited Partner with Novus. With a broad background in service
and manufacturing industries, he recently has provided strategic planning
counsel to Silicon Valley CEOs. He has served as a consultant to Wells
Fargo Investment Corporation, was founder and CEO of venture-backed Wallbangers
Court Centers, and was CEO of Patterson-Williams, a national playground,
parks and athletic-field products manufacturer.

Operations Manager
Johanna's background in Administration, Human Resources, Customer Service
and Facilities is well-utilized as Office Manager for Novus. She is the
"go-to" person and facilitator responsible for the firm's
administrative and operational needs.
